Wild Women......it was fun fun fun! We can hardly wait for July's event.

Oh man.........what fun I had yesterday with three beautiful ladies and close friends, Barbara, Sharon, Diane and Audrey. We attended a benefit at South Coast Winery called Wild Women of the Wine Country. It not only was a benefit where the proceeds went to a local community charity "HOPE" that provides approximately 25,000 meals per month, but it was also a cooking lesson and a lunch...not to mention champagne and more wine that one should drink, and lots of music and dancing. Wahoooooooooooooooo. Thank goodness I had a camera and wasn't able to make the "photo gallery". Thank you Diane for driving

I highly recommend this event to all ladies out there.....the next one is in July and you've guessed it, we are raring to go again. Maybe this time we should just make it a Spa weekend.....wine away the day and have our hubby's join us at night.

In my own back yard....imagine that!

It's Friday morning and a beautiful day in Canyon Lake.
My list is getting longer for all the things I have to
do before Annie Sloan lands in California to continue her
American Chalk Paint/Book Signing Tour and before I leave
for New Orleans for the "gathering" of the "Stockist's".
I wonder why I'm breaking out?????? Certainly not stress!

Today we will have a class at "the Room" where we will
learn how to make snow globes...only we will use a
Valentine and St. Patrick's theme. Just changing it up a
little from cabinets, gourds and gilding. Next class
will be decoupaging book boxes, one of my favorites.

Ok....I will post more data on Annie Sloan and her
events next week but for now I'm going to add yet
another smile box on a beautiful little shop I discovered
right in the Canyon Lake Town Center, imagine that, in my
own backyard. One doesn't have to travel the freeways
all the time to frequent these wonderful shops.

Enjoy...."Today's Attic" because that's "where I am".

A glimpse of where I've come from and who I am.....

A lot of you know me personally and a lot of you do not. I thought I'd share a little background of where I came from, the girl I left behind and the person I am today. I love life, I love my family and I love the unknown of what is around the next corner.

Friday's post I will update and share Annie Sloan's U.S.A. events and background.

Enjoy.....(I know this isn't Sunday when I usually post something close to my heart but it is Tuesday and change is good.)

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh - it's FRIDAY

This will be a very short post until I get it all together for my next posting about ANNIE SLOAN. This week has been packed full of going, going, going and changes to Annie's So. California tour.

One of the changes is on Sunday, March 6th from 1 - 3 P.M. Annie Sloan will be doing a Demo and Book signing at Country Roads Antiques and Gardens in Orange instead of San Diego. We are very excited and I know Annie will love EVERYTHING within their walls and garden. How much fun to be at a location where you never know who will be stopping in, from Nate Berkus to Rachel Ashwell. All I can say is "wahoooooooooooooo".

I am adding a slide show featuring Country Roads so you can see why I am so excited. It's all I can do to keep from renting a U-Haul and filling it up every time I walk through their front door. I am now motivated to re-do our house and that includes finishing our half painted fireplace.

Enjoy the journey through Country Roads front door and garden area and I'll be back next week.

I want to post the last of my January "road trip" and then begin yet more discoveries of wonderful places to visit and events to frequent.

I hope you enjoy the slide shows as much as I've enjoyed taking the photo's and matching them to special music. TWO passions in my life, music and photography.

When I post on Monday be sure and take notice of changes in Annie Sloan's events when she is visiting So. California. I will be off to New Orleans before I know it and will enjoy meeting Annie for the first time myself and also partake in a special workshop for the U.S. "stockists". Wahooooooo, I love what I do everyday.

My thanks to Kim and Jana who gave me permission to "shoot" their shops.

EXCITING TIMES FOR THE WEST COAST!!!!

ANNIE SLOAN is coming to Southern California to give her One Day Workshop on Tuesday, March 8th. The cost of the Workshop will be $395 and will include luncheon with Annie. You'll learn Annie's techniques of distressing, textured and layering paints and mixing colors with waxes. You'll leave with sample board moldings plus a completed special project and more. The Workshop will be held at Annette Tatum's Work Room in Santa Monica, CA. You can register on my web site www.houseofanne.net or on this blog site using the "products available" side gadget button. Class size will be limited so register now.

On Sunday, March 6th, Country Roads in Orange, CA will host a book signing on "Creating the French Look" and quick and easy paint transformations from 1 - 3 p.m. On Monday, March 7th, Out of the Blue (still pending so stand bye) in Solana Beach will host a 2 hour demo and book signing from 1 - 3 p.m. followed by Serendipity in Temecula hosting a demo and book signing featuring Annie's book, "quick and easy paint transformations" from 6 - 8 p.m. Come one come all for a fun and memorable time.

Annie will begin her US tour in New Orleans, LA taking her then to Mississippi, California, Texas, North Carolina and New Jersey. Annie will be traveling from Oxford, England for this fantastic opportunity and is probably the main reason for the painted furniture revolution through her lively and creative approach to painting. She has a strong desire to communicate and empower people creatively, which she does through her books, workshops and paint.

The most unique aspect of Annie Sloan's Chalk Paint is that you can paint directly over varnished and waxed furniture. No need to prime, sand, strip or prepare the piece prior to painting. It is truly amazing and a wonderful paint to use. We always recommend that you seal your piece with Hannant's Clear Wax after painting with Annie Sloan Chalk Paint to seal and protect. This patent pending Chalk Paint was created in England by world renowned decorative painter and author Annie Sloan.
Annie Sloan Chalk Paint is the Best Paint on the market for painting furniture. It can be used on almost any surface including old varnished pieces, melamine, metal, floors and walls. I encourage you to pull up Annie's web site, blog and face book pages for more information on her talents. Annie Sloan is to the world of decorative painting and techniques what Rachel Ashwood is to Shabby Chic.

NOW, for another slide show of "where am i?" I have had so much fun with my little road trips since I started representing Annie Sloan and her products. Tuesday after the New Year rang in I headed north to discover new places, at least for me, in the Sacramento area. I absolutely loved the doors I walked through, the people I met and what I got to see. I hope you will enjoy all the "stuff", vintage, antiques and shabby chic creations I appreciated and wanted to take home with me....and I would have IF I still had my eclectic design shop on Whidbey Island in the N.W. I want to thank my three wonderful friends for sharing this road trip...memories where created, new roads taken, lots of u turns and so much laughter my stomach still hurts. Thank you Shirley, Diane and Sharon, I look forward to more in 2011. Enjoy the show and please look later in the week for some more.
